Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 cups of cubed day-old banana bread
- 4 tablespoons of butter, softened
- 2 cups of milk
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- Powdered sugar, for garnish
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
-
Spread the cubed banana bread evenly in the prepared baking dish. Dot with softened butter.
-
In a medium saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until hot but not boiling. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, vanilla extract, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
-
Pour the milk mixture over the banana bread in the baking dish, pressing down gently to help the bread soak up the liquid.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the pudding is set and the top is golden brown.
-
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar for garnish.
-
Serve warm and enjoy!
