  • 2 cups of mixed autumn fruits (such as apples, pears, and plums), peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp of nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with the melted butter.

  2. In a bowl, mix together the sliced autumn fruits, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.

  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and baking powder. Add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined.

  4. Pour the batter over the fruit mixture in the baking dish, spreading it evenly.

  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the fruits are tender.
