Ingredients

  • 500g fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 250g granulated sugar
  • juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.

  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the sugar has dissolved.

  3. Increase the heat to high and bring the mixture to a boil.

  4. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the jam has thickened and reached the desired consistency. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  5. Remove from heat and let the jam cool slightly.

  6. Pour into sterilized jars and seal tightly.

  7. Allow the jam to cool completely before refrigerating. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
