Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 cups of blackberries
- 2 cups of blueberries
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 package of pre-made pie crusts
- 1 tablespoon of milk
- 2 teaspoons of sugar, for sprinkling
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
In a large bowl, combine the blackberries, blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Mix well until the berries are coated.
-
Roll out one of the pie crusts and place it in a greased pie dish.
-
Pour the berry mixture into the pie crust, spreading it evenly.
-
Roll out the second pie crust and place it on top of the berry filling. Press the edges of the crusts together to seal.
-
Use a sharp knife to make a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
-
Brush the top crust with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
-
Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
-
Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 1 hour before serving.
