How To Make Banana Foster Dessert Recipe

A delectable dessert made with ripe bananas, brown sugar, rum, and vanilla ice cream, served flambe style!

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg powder
  • 1/4 cup dark rum
  • Vanilla ice cream (as required)

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut bananas diagonally.

  2. In a skillet, melt butter, and then add brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg powder. Stir until combined.

  3. Add bananas in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Add rum and tilt skillet to ignite the flame. Allow the alcohol to cook off and let the sauce thicken.

  5. Serve hot over vanilla ice cream.
