How To Make Homemade Apple Crumble

Crisp apples are topped with a flaky crumble made with ginger, flour, and cinnamon for a sweet and luscious apple crumble that’s ready in just an hour.

  • 6cupsapples,peeled and chopped, 1-inch pieces
  • ¼cupsugar
  • 2tbspflour
  • 1tspcinnamon,or apple pie spice

For Crumble Topping:

  • 1cupflour
  • cupwhite sugar
  • cupbrown sugar,packed
  • ½tspcinnamon
  • tspground ginger
  • ¼tspsalt,or to taste
  • ½cupunsalted butter,cold, cut into cubes


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. Place all topping ingredients in a medium bowl. Use a pastry cutter to cut in butter for about 3 minutes until the mixture starts to stick together. Place in the fridge while preparing the apples.

  3. Place apples in an 8×8-inch baking dish and toss with sugar, flour, and cinnamon.

  4. Sprinkle topping over top and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden and apples are soft.

  5. Serve warm with ice cream. Enjoy!
