How To Make Raspberry & Apple Crumble Squares

Delicious squares made with a mix of raspberry and apple filling, topped with a sweet crumble.

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 30 minutes
Total: 45 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch baking dish with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt. Add the cold butter and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut it into the dry ingredients until crumbly.

  3. In another bowl, mix together the raspberries, diced apples, granulated sugar, and cornstarch until well coated.

  4. Press half of the crumble mixture into the prepared baking dish to form the base. Spread the raspberry and apple mixture evenly over the base.

  5. Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture over the top of the filling.

  6. Bake for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before cutting into squares.

  8. Serve as is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
