  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 48 chocolate candy eyes
  • 12 small pretzel sticks

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.

  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the peanut butter mixture and mix until just combined.

  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a fork to create a criss-cross pattern.

  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden brown around the edges.

  8. Remove from the oven and immediately press two candy eyes onto each cookie. Insert 4 pretzel sticks into each cookie to resemble spider legs.

  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
