These are spooky spider-shaped cookies perfect for Halloween.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 48 candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  5. Gradually beat in flour mixture into butter mixture until fully incorporated.

  6. Stir in chocolate chips.

  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto prepared baking sheet.

  8. Press 4 candy eyes into each cookie to create the spider look.

  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are golden brown.

  10. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
