Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups pitted dates, chopped
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.

  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. Press half of the oat mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Spread the cooled date mixture evenly over the crust. Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture over the dates, pressing lightly.

  6. Serve and enjoy!
