  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, ground ginger, baking powder, and salt.

  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. Beat in the molasses, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

  8. Allow the biscuits to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
