Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.

  3. Add the cold butter to the flour mixture and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut it into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and vanilla extract. Gradually pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms.

  5. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.

  6. Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Use a bat-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the biscuits and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.

  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the biscuits are set and slightly golden around the edges.

  8. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  9. Once the biscuits are cool, dust them with powdered sugar for a spooky finish.

  10. Serve and enjoy!
