Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Beat in molasses and egg.

  4. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.

  5. Gradually add these dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix until well combined.

  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on a greased cookie sheet.

  7. Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.

  8. Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack.
