How To Make Swedish Rice Pudding
Traditionally served at Christmas, this light, creamy, and densed Swedish Rice Pudding Recipe will disappear in the table the minute it is served.
Ingredients
- ½ cup rice
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp margarine , or oil
- 4 ½ cup milk
- ½ cup sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Cook a half cup of rice in water with salt and oil. Bring to a boil, while stirring constantly.
- Once done but not dry, lower the heat, then add milk and sugar.
- In a bowl, beat eggs. Scoop some of the hot mixture into the eggs while stirring. Add vanilla. Then, combine all of the mixture together.
- Pour the mixture into the baking dish of about 2 1/2 quart size.Â
- Place dish in pan with water in the bottom.
- Bake at 250 degrees for 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours. Take out in the oven once the top lifts in the center.
