Ingredients

  • 1 cup sushi rice
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 sheets nori (seaweed)
  • 1/2 cup cooked crab meat
  • 1/2 avocado, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions.

  2. In a small bowl, mix together the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Stir until the sugar and salt dissolve.

  3. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice onto a sheet of nori, leaving about 1 inch of the nori uncovered.

  4. Place a strip of crab meat, avocado, and cucumber in the center of the rice.

  5. Roll the nori tightly, using a bamboo sushi mat if desired.

  6. Repeat steps 3-5 with the remaining ingredients.

  7. Use a sharp knife to slice each roll into bite-sized pieces.

  8. Serve with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi, if desired.
