Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Divide the pizza dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll out each piece into a 8-inch circle.

  3. Spread 1/4 cup of marinara sauce on one half of each dough circle, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. Top the sauce with 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, some pepperoni slices, black olives, and fresh basil.

  5. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges together to seal.

  6. Place the calzones on a baking sheet and brush with olive oil. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.

  8. Serve hot with remaining marinara sauce for dipping.
