How To Make Chicken Valdostano Recipe

Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts
- 4 slices of ham
- 4 slices of fontina cheese
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Olive oil, for frying
- Marinara sauce, for serving
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cut a slit lengthwise into each chicken breast to create a pocket.

Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

Place a slice of ham and a slice of fontina cheese into each pocket.

Secure the pockets with toothpicks.

Dip each chicken breast into the flour, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Fry the chicken breasts until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Transfer the chicken breasts to a baking dish and bake for 15-20 minutes or until cooked through.

Serve the chicken Valdostano with marinara sauce, garnished with fresh basil leaves.
