How To Make Indian Tofu Malai Kofta Recipe
Soft and melt-in-mouth tofu koftas in a creamy cashew sauce, flavored with rich spices.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 200g tofu, crumbled
- 2 tbsp corn flour
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1 bay leaf
- 1-inch cinnamon stick
- 3 green cardamoms
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 cup cashew paste
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 cup fresh cream
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine crumbled tofu, corn flour, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and salt.

Mix well to form a smooth and firm dough.

Divide the dough into 8-10 equal parts and shape them into small balls.

Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat and fry the tofu balls until they turn golden brown. Remove and keep aside.

Heat ghee in a pan and add bay leaf, cinnamon stick, and cardamoms.

Add chopped onion and fry until light brown.

Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for a minute.

Add cashew paste, turmeric powder, and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add fresh cream, garam masala powder, salt, and a cup of water.

Stir and let it simmer until the sauce thickens.

Add the fried tofu koftas and simmer for 5 minutes.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
