Harissa Turkey Kofta & Carrot Pittas Recipe

How To Make Harissa Turkey Kofta & Carrot Pittas

A flavorful and spicy dish of harissa-marinated turkey kofta served in warm carrot pittas.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 500g ground turkey
  • 2 tbsp harissa paste
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 carrots, grated
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or oat flour
  • 4 wholemeal pittas
  • Greek yogurt, for serving
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together ground turkey, harissa paste, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper.

  2. Add grated carrots and breadcrumbs (or oat flour) to the turkey mixture. Mix until well combined.

  3. Shape the mixture into small kofta balls.

  4. Heat a grill pan or barbecue grill over medium heat. Cook the kofta for about 15 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through.

  5. While the kofta cook, warm the pittas in a toaster or on a grill.

  6. To serve, cut open each pitta and fill with cooked kofta. Top with Greek yogurt and fresh cilantro.
