How To Make Indian Tofu Kadai Recipe

A flavorful, vegetarian dish made with marinated tofu and a blend of Indian spices.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, pressed and cut into cubes
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 green chili, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • salt, as per taste
  • 2 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together ginger paste, garlic paste, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, and salt.

  2. Add tofu cubes to the bowl and coat them well with the spice mix. Set it aside for 10 minutes.

  3. In a kadai or pan, heat oil over medium-high heat.

  4. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.

  5. Add chopped bell pepper and chopped green chili. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.

  6. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften.

  7. Add marinated tofu cubes and mix everything well.

  8. Cover the pan and let the tofu cook for 10-12 minutes on low-medium heat.

  9. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.
