How To Make Indian Tofu Butter Masala Recipe

Buttery, creamy tofu cooked in rich tomato gravy with aromatic herbs and spices.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 400 grams tofu, cubed
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, grated
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a pan, add chopped onions, minced garlic, grated ginger and sauté until onions are golden brown.

  2. Add pureed tomatoes, all the spices and salt; cook till the oil separates.

  3. Add cubed tofu and simmer for 5-7 minutes.

  4. Add cream and chopped coriander leaves, simmer for another 2 minutes. Turn off the heat.

  5. Serve hot with naan or rice.
