- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp of oil
- 4 cups of water
- Cilantro leaves for garnish
Instructions
-
Rinse the Toor dal and soak it in water for 20 minutes.
-
In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add in cumin seeds.
-
Once cumin seeds splutter, add in onions and sauté until translucent.
-
Add ginger and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
-
Add in tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.
-
Now add coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
