How To Make Indian Tofu Tikka Masala
A creamy and flavourful vegetarian dish made with marinated tofu and a delicious tomato-based sauce.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, pressed and cut into cubes
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- Salt, to taste
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 cup cream (or coconut milk for vegan)
- 1 tbsp chopped cilantro, for garnish
Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt.

Add tofu to the mixture and marinate for at least 20 minutes.

Preheat oven to 375°F and place tofu cubes on a baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Heat oil in a large skillet and sauté onion until lightly browned.

Add pureed tomatoes, red chilli powder, and 1 tsp of salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until the oil separates from the mixture.

Add the baked tofu to the skillet and mix well.

Reduce heat to low and add cream. Mix well and let it simmer for 10 minutes.

Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan bread.
