Ingredients

  • 3 potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.

  2. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.

  3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for 1 minute.

  4. Add tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.

  5. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.

  6. Add diced potatoes and peas. Cook for 5 minutes.

  7. Add water as needed to create a gravy consistency. Cover and cook until potatoes are tender.

  8. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh cilantro.
