How To Make Matar Paneer Recipe

This is a classic North Indian dish made with green peas and paneer in a rich and creamy tomato-based gravy.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups green peas
  • 200g paneer (cubed)
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 tomatoes (pureed)
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh cream
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them crackle.

  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.

  4. Add tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates.

  5. Add green peas and paneer cubes. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes.

  6. Add garam masala and fresh cream. Mix gently and cook for another 2 minutes.

  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
