How To Make Lainy’s Pork Sinigang Recipe

A tangy and savory Filipino soup made with pork, vegetables, and tamarind.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs of pork shoulder, cubed
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 eggplant, sliced
  • 6 okra pods, sliced
  • 1 radish, sliced
  • 1 pack of sinigang mix
  • 8 cups of water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a pot over medium heat, sauté onion, garlic, and tomato until fragrant.

  2. Add pork and cook until browned.

  3. Pour in water and bring to a boil. Lower heat and let simmer for 1 hour.

  4. Add sinigang mix and vegetables and simmer for another 20-30 minutes.

  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Serve hot with steamed rice.
