How To Make Eldon’s Chocolate Mousse Recipe

Creamy and decadent chocolate mousse with a rich and velvety texture.

Total: 25 minutes (+ 2 hours cooling time)

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup of unsalted butter
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler or in the microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.

  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks with sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until pale and creamy.

  3. Gradually whisk in the melted chocolate mixture until combined.

  4. In another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.

  5. Gently fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture.

  6. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.

  7. Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until smooth.

  8. Divide the mousse mixture into 4 serving glasses or ramekins.

  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
