How To Make Arnaud’s Seafood Jambalaya Recipe

A spicy and savory Cajun dish with a mix of seafood, meat and vegetables, cooked in a flavorful broth with rice.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb of chicken breast, cubed
  • 1 lb of smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 stalks of celery, diced
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 2 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp of Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp of paprika
  • 1 tsp of dried thyme
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups of uncooked long grain rice

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, sauté the sausage over medium heat until browned, then remove and set aside.

  2. Add the chicken to the pot and cook until browned, then remove and set aside.

  3. Add the onion, green pepper, celery and garlic to the pot and sauté until tender.

  4. Add the tomatoes, chicken broth, Cajun seasoning, paprika, thyme, salt, and black pepper to the pot and bring to a simmer.

  5. Add the rice to the pot and stir well.

  6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot.

  7. Simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is tender and cooked through.

  8. Add the shrimp, chicken, and sausage to the pot and stir well.

  9. Cover the pot again and simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.

  10. Serve hot.
