How To Make Creamy Porridge with Spiced Apple & Cranberry
Breakfast bowls are really convenient because all you have to do is literally toss together the ingredients in a bowl, and you’ve got yourself a hearty breakfast. You might have already seen the trendy bowls of quinoa seeds with fruits and nuts around social media. But did you know that you can have savory renditions of this morning meal, too? Ingredients
- 1 cup of rolled oats
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 cup of water
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp of nutmeg
- 2 tbsp of honey
- 1 apple, peeled and chopped
- 1/4 cup of dried cranberries
- Optional toppings: sliced almonds, chia seeds, or additional honey

In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the oats, milk, water, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Cook the porridge for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick and creamy.

While the porridge is cooking, heat a separate skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped apple, dried cranberries, honey, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Cook for about 5 minutes until the apple is tender and lightly caramelized.

Serve the creamy porridge in bowls and top with the spiced apple and cranberry mixture.
