Transform your favorite cream french toasts into a decadent dessert for a satisfying breakfast. Added with strawberries, this toast is irresistibly good.

Ingredients

  • 1egg
  • ¼cuplow fat milkunsweetened, or almond milk
  • 1tbspnatural sweeteneror sugar of choice
  • 2tspvanilla extract
  • ¼cuplow fat cream cheeseor fat free
  • 1tbspnatural sweeteneror sugar of choice
  • 10strawberriessliced
  • 4pcsbread of choice

Instructions

  1. Whisk the egg, milk, sweetener or sugar, and vanilla together in a shallow bowl until combined.

  2. In a separate bowl, combine cream cheese and the extra sweetener or sugar. Spread all pieces of bread with the cream cheese mixture, and add the sliced strawberries to one slice of bread.

  3. Top with the second piece of bread and gently press the edges down to ‘seal.’ Repeat with remaining bread.

  4. Dip the sandwiches into the egg mix, one by one, and turn to coat.

  5. Heat a non-stick pan with cooking oil spray over low-medium heat.

  6. Fry each sandwich for about 3 to 5 minutes on both sides or until golden brown and cooked through.

  7. To serve, dust with icing sugar and drizzle with maple syrup.
