Ingredients

  • 4 slices of French bread
  • 4 spicy sausages, casings removed
  • 1 cup of goat’s cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Place the French bread slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5 minutes, or until lightly golden.

  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

  4. Add the spicy sausage to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

  5. Remove the skillet from heat and drain off any excess grease.

  6. Spread a generous amount of goat’s cheese onto each toasted French bread slice.

  7. Top the goat’s cheese with a spoonful of the cooked spicy sausage.

  8. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes for extra heat.

  9. Place the prepared toasts back in the oven for 5 minutes, until the cheese is melty and the toasts are heated through.

  10. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley.

  11. Serve immediately and enjoy!
