Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 and 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt together.

  2. Gradually add the warm water and olive oil while stirring until a sticky dough forms.

  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  4. Place the dough back into the bowl, cover it, and let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

  5. Preheat a skillet or a griddle over medium heat.

  6. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and shape them into balls.

  7. On a floured surface, roll out each ball into a flat circle, about ¼ inch thick.

  8. Place the flat bread on the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.

  9. Repeat with the remaining dough balls.

  10. Serve warm and enjoy!
