Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 slices of provolone cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Set aside.

  2. Season the steak with salt and pepper. Heat the remaining olive oil in a separate skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for 2-3 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.

  3. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes.

  4. While the steak is resting, toast the bread slices until golden brown.

  5. Assemble the sandwiches by placing a slice of provolone cheese on each slice of bread. Top with a generous amount of caramelized onions and steak slices.

  6. Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the steak and onions.

  7. Serve the sandwiches hot and enjoy!
