Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup grated onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, grated onion, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well, then shape into meatballs.

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove meatballs from skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until onions are softened and mushrooms are browned.

  4. In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, sour cream, and flour until smooth. Pour mixture into skillet with mushrooms and onions. Cook, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens.

  5. Return meatballs to the skillet and simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through.

  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve meatball stroganoff over cooked egg noodles or rice. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
