How To Make Beef Pie with Crisp Potato Crust

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.

Add the onion, carrots, garlic, and thyme to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened.

Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and tomato paste. Season with salt and pepper.

Simmer the mixture for 10 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly.

Transfer the beef mixture to a greased baking dish.

Arrange the sliced potatoes on top of the beef mixture, overlapping slightly.

Brush the melted butter over the potatoes.

Cover the dish with foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes, until the potatoes are golden and crispy.

Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before serving.
