Preparation: 30 minutes
Cooking: 25 minutes
Total: 55 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced pickles
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 sheets refrigerated pie crust
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

  3. Add the onions, pickles, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the onions are softened.

  4. Unroll the pie crusts onto a lightly floured surface. Using a biscuit cutter or round glass, cut out circles from the pie crusts.

  5. Spoon a tablespoon of the beef and pickle mixture onto each circle of pie crust. Fold the crust over the filling to form a half-moon shape. Press the edges together with a fork to seal.

  6. Place the pasties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.

  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
