  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup buttermilk, cold

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. Add cold butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut it into the flour until pea-sized crumbs form.

  4. Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the cold buttermilk. Stir just until the dough comes together.

  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it becomes smooth.

  6. Roll the dough out to about 1/2 inch thickness. Using a round biscuit cutter, cut out biscuits and place them onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

  8. Serve warm and enjoy!
