Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter, for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. Cut in chilled butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. Stir in buttermilk until the dough comes together in a ball.

  5. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently.

  6. Pat into a 1-inch thick circle and cut out biscuits (about 3 inches in diameter).

  7. Arrange biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush with melted butter.

  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

  9. Serve warm with butter and honey.
