  • 4 cups of sliced peaches
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 cup of whole milk
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of flour, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt. Mix well.

  3. Pour the melted butter into a 9×9-inch baking dish.

  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the remaining 1 cup of flour, 1/4 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  5. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish, but do not stir.

  7. Pour the peach mixture evenly over the batter.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.

  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
