How To Make Venison Stew Recipe
A hearty and comforting stew made with venison, vegetables, and rich broth.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 pound venison stew meat
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cups chopped carrots
- 2 cups chopped celery
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 cups beef or venison broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the venison and cook until browned on all sides.

Add the onion, carrots, celery, and garlic. Cook for 5 minutes until the vegetables are slightly softened.

Add the bay leaves, broth, wine, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and salt and pepper.

Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 2-3 hours or until the venison is tender.

Serve the stew hot with crusty bread.
