Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground venison
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef or venison broth
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground venison.

  2. Add the diced onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.

  3. Pour in the broth, crushed tomatoes, and tomato paste. Stir well.

  4. Add the dried oregano, basil, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine.

  5. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let cook for 45 minutes to an hour, stirring occasionally.

  6. Serve the venison Bolognese over your favorite pasta.
