How To Make Make-Ahead Stuffing

Stuffing is a great add-on to your main dishes. More than just something to fill the turkey with during Thanksgiving, stuffing is a wonderful side dish to complement your dish of choice. There’s no stopping you in enjoying this stuffing recipe!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups of bread cubes
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 1 tsp of dried sage
  • 1 tsp of dried thyme
  • 1 tsp of dried rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper
  • 2 cups of vegetable or chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion, celery, and garlic. Cook until softened.

  3. Add the sage, thyme, rosemary, salt, and black pepper to the pan. Stir to combine.

  4. In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes and the cooked vegetable mixture.

  5. Gradually pour the broth over the bread cubes, mixing well until the bread is moistened.

  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.

  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until the top is golden brown and crispy.

  8. Allow the stuffing to cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container.

  9. To serve, reheat the stuffing in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes.
