How To Make Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 can (400g) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until softened.

Add the diced tomatoes, dried basil, and dried oregano to the pan. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove the pan from heat and let it cool slightly. Then transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.

Return the sauce to the pan and stir in the heavy cream. Cook over low heat for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.

Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and add it to the sauce. Toss until the pasta is well coated.
