  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

  2. Add the crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.

  3. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Remove the lid and continue to simmer for an additional 10 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken.

  5. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
