  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. Add the diced jalapeno and cook for about 2 minutes until softened.

  3. Stir in the flour, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.

  4. Slowly whisk in the milk until smooth and creamy.

  5. Reduce heat to low and gradually add the shredded cheese, stirring constantly until melted and smooth.

  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Remove from heat and let the cheese sauce sit for a few minutes to thicken before serving.
