  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.

  2. Add the sliced onions and cook until golden brown and crispy. Remove from heat and set aside.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine the bread crumbs, flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.

  4. Dip the cooked onions into the milk, then coat with the bread crumb mixture.

  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).

  6. Fry the coated onions until golden brown and crispy. Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

  7. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the remaining bread crumb mixture and cook until golden brown.

  8. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.

  9. Serve the crispy onions alongside the bread sauce as a tasty appetizer.
