How To Make Kermit’s Oyster Po’ Boy Recipe
This classic New Orleans sandwich is packed with crispy fried oysters, lettuce, tomato, and a tangy remoulade sauce.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 pint shucked oysters, drained
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 4 french bread rolls
- 1/2 cup remoulade sauce
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 1 large tomato, sliced
Instructions
-
In a shallow dish, whisk together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
-
Heat 2 inches of vegetable oil in a large deep skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F.
-
Dredge each oyster in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
-
Fry the oysters in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the oysters to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
-
Slice the french bread rolls in half and spread remoulade sauce on both sides.
-
Arrange lettuce and tomato slices on the bottom half of each roll.
-
Top with fried oysters and serve immediately.
