  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon of dried parsley

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  2. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk continuously for 1 minute to cook out the raw flour taste.

  3. Slowly pour in the milk while whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Continue cooking and whisking until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.

  4. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.

  5. Add the salt, black pepper, dried basil, and dried parsley. Stir to combine.

  6. Allow the sauce to simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

  7. Remove from heat and serve immediately over pasta or as a dipping sauce for bread.
