Ingredients

  • 4 tomatoes
  • 2 jalapeno peppers
  • 1 small red onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill or stovetop grill pan to medium-high heat.

  2. Place the tomatoes, jalapenos, red onion, and garlic cloves on the grill. Cook until charred and softened, turning occasionally.

  3. Remove the vegetables from the grill and let them cool slightly.

  4. Remove the stems from the jalapenos and cut them in half. Remove the seeds for a milder salsa.

  5. In a blender or food processor, add the charred tomatoes, jalapenos, red onion, and garlic. Pulse until desired consistency is reached.

  6. Pour the salsa into a bowl and stir in the lime juice and chopped cilantro. Season with salt to taste.

  7. Serve immediately or refrigerate for flavors to meld together.
