How To Make Sunflower Seed and Tofu Stir-Fry

A vegan-friendly stir-fry dish made with protein-packed tofu and crunchy sunflower seeds.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 block of extra firm tofu, drained and pressed
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • Green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut the tofu into cubes and toss with cornstarch, salt, and pepper.

  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the tofu and cook until crispy and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside.

  3. In the same pan, add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add broccoli, carrots, and bell peppers and cook for 5-7 minutes or until tender.

  4. Add the sunflower seeds and cooked tofu to the pan.

  5. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce and sesame oil. Pour over stir-fry mixture and toss until evenly coated.

  6. Serve hot with green onions as garnish.
